Wroxham took control of the match early by scoring in the 2nd minute, scored by Harry
Barker from outside the box into the corner of the net. After scoring early both teams were
very equal in both possession and chances although Mildenhall had slightly more goal
scoring opportunities. Mildenhall played quite attackingly in the first half with Wroxham
struggling to keep the ball in Mildenhall’s half, despite Mildenhall playing this way there were
rarely players down the middle of the pitch to pass to when going forward. Mildenhall had a
good few chances on goal, one which was a header that was comfortably catched by the
keeper and some more from players in the box that were kicked away by the defenders. The
teams went in at halftime 1-0 to Wroxham.
The second half started with both teams very equal again but Wroxham had the majority of
possession and chances whilst also getting a lot of corners. The ball was constantly in
Mildenhall's half and they were unable to create anything whilst with the ball. Josh Pope was
excellent in denying them a 2nd goal, and at 1 chance had to stretch his body wide and kick
the ball away with the tip of his foot. However Wroxham managed to get the 2nd goal in the
66th minute from Charlie Royle, this was scored from inside the box and shot through the
keeper’s arms into the back of the net. Mildenhall were now determined to get the next goal
and were trying at every opportunity they had. They managed to get 1 back in the 85th
minute thanks to Ben Nolan, the ball got crossed into the box and the keeper initially got it
but passed it to Ben who shot it wide into the corner of the net. This goal made Mildenhall
even more determined to get a point from the game. They were extremely close in the last
minutes of the game when a Mildenhall player had a shot but was just offside. Mildenhal
couldn’t get 1 back and Wroxham won the game 2-1.
Wroxham player Jordan King got a second yellow in the 90+3rd minute because of a foul on
a Mildenhall player which resulted in him being sent off.
